Location: This is an on-site role based at The Lodge Trust in the village of Market Overton, Rutland, working principally across our residential homes and holiday accommodation.
Job Type: Part Time – 21 hours per week
Monday & Friday: 09:30–15:30;
Tuesday–Thursday: 09:30–12:30
Salary: £14,179 per annum (£12.95 per hour, Pay Point 1)

The Lodge Trust CIO is a Christian charity based in Market Overton, Rutland, providing supported living, residential care, day opportunities, and work-based activities for adults with learning disabilities. Role Purpose
As a Housekeeper, you will play an important role in maintaining clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming environments across The Lodge Trust.
The role combines high-quality housekeeping within our residential homes with the preparation of our on-site holiday accommodation. Mondays and Fridays are designated cabin changeover days, where these will take priority. Where no changeover is required, you will undertake residential or other agreed housekeeping duties.
Working as part of the Facilities Team and under the direction of the Facilities Manager, you will take pride in maintaining excellent standards while respecting residents’ privacy, dignity, belongings, and home environment. This is a housekeeping role and does not include responsibility for personal care or direct care duties.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain consistently high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across allocated residential homes and agreed areas

Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, lounges, dining rooms, communal areas, offices, staff rooms, and other agreed spaces

Carry out vacuuming, floor cleaning, dusting, polishing, sanitising, and scheduled deep-cleaning duties

Complete laundry duties, including washing, drying, ironing, and storing household linen and other items as required

Empty bins and dispose of waste safely and appropriately

On Mondays and Fridays, complete holiday cabin changeovers as a priority when required

Thoroughly clean and prepare holiday cabins to an excellent hospitality standard for arriving guests

Make beds, replace bedding and towels, and replenish toiletries, welcome packs, and housekeeping supplies

Check that furniture, equipment, and appliances are clean, presentable, and operational
-
Identify and promptly report maintenance issues, damage, missing items, or potential hazards
-
Complete cleaning schedules and required records accurately and consistently

Monitor and replenish cleaning materials, toiletries, and housekeeping consumables
-
Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and maintain equipment in good working order in accordance with COSHH requirements

Help maintain environments that are clean, uncluttered, comfortable, welcoming, and safe

Follow infection prevention and control, Health & Safety, safeguarding, and confidentiality procedures

Work collaboratively with the Facilities Team, liaising with colleagues regarding housekeeping priorities within residential homes

Maintain professional, positive, and respectful relationships with residents, families, colleagues, visitors, and holiday guests

Support housekeeping priorities during periods of annual leave, sickness, operational pressure, or Lodge Trust events where appropriate
What We’re Looking For

Previous experience in housekeeping, hospitality, domestic services, cleaning, or customer service

Excellent housekeeping skills with a strong eye for detail and pride in maintaining high standards

Good organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively

Reliable, punctual, trustworthy, and committed to delivering a consistently high standard of work

Able to work efficiently and meet time-critical holiday cabin changeover deadlines
-
Comfortable working independently while also contributing positively as part of a team

Good communication skills and the ability to develop respectful professional relationships

Able to work sensitively and respectfully within residents’ homes, maintaining privacy, dignity, and appropriate professional boundaries

Able to use initiative, exercise sound judgement, and recognise when concerns or issues need to be escalated

Willingness to follow COSHH, Health & Safety, infection prevention and control, safeguarding, and confidentiality procedures

A flexible and adaptable approach, with a willingness to support operational priorities when required

Desirable -

Experience working within a care or supported living environment

Experience preparing guest accommodation, holiday lets, or hotel rooms

Food Hygiene Certificate

Infection Prevention training

COSHH awareness

Basic understanding of safeguarding within an adult social care setting.
