Volunteer Fundraiser

Could you use your skills to join our fundraising team and promote The Lodge Trust in your community? This could be running a stall at an event, speaking on behalf of The Lodge Trust to potential supporters, attending cheque presentations, or putting up posters. You would have the opportunity to organize events and engage your community in supporting us.

What does the role involve?

  • Supporting local fundraising and awareness events
  • Manning a stall at events
  • Putting up posters or handing out flyers
  • Delivering a presentation to a church or group in your local area
  • Attending cheque presentations
  • Being a local contact for existing and new volunteers

What you will get from the role

  • Induction to the organization; full and ongoing training for the role
  • Ongoing support, advice, and guidance from the Volunteer Coordinator (we are an Investor in People)
  • The satisfaction of knowing you are making a vital difference to the work of The Lodge Trust and consequently to the lives of adults with learning disabilities and their families
  • The opportunity to develop new and existing skills and gain experience volunteering in a charity, enhancing your CV
  • The opportunity to meet new people
  • Regular updates on organizational activities
  • Reimbursement of agreed expenses according to our policies and procedures

Skills and qualities we are looking for

  • Outgoing, friendly, and proactive character
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Comfortable volunteering within a group or by yourself
  • Able to use your own initiative, but also to ask for help when you need it
  • Fully computer-literate and comfortable with the main Microsoft Office tools, databases, and emails

Please note: due to the nature of our work, you will be required to fill in our volunteer application form and undergo an enhanced DBS check (at our expense).

How much time will I need to give?

We encourage our volunteers to organize at least one fundraising event each year and attend our two annual sale days here at The Lodge Trust in May and November if possible. However, this role is designed to fit around you and what time you can spare to help us to fundraise in your local area.
